Today, March 8, five out of seven Metrobús lines have been affected due to protests. The affected stations include Reforma and Hamburgo on Line 1, Mina and Balderas on Line 3, from Buenavista to Archivo General de la Nación and from Plaza de la República to Vocacional 5 on Line 4, from Ganaderos to Cafetales on Line 5, and from Hidalgo to Campo Marte on Line 7.
The recommended alternatives to reach the city center are as follows: Juárez on Line 3, Bellas Artes on Lines 2 and 8, Pino Suárez on Line 2, Allende on Line 2 and San Juan de Letrán on Line 8. These options can be used due to the closure of the Zócalo/Tenochtitlan stations on Line 2 and Hidalgo on Lines 2 and 3, according to information provided by the Metro Collective Transportation System.
This Friday, it is expected that women, girls, and adolescents will participate in protests for International Women's Day in Mexico City to demand equal pay, reproductive rights, education, justice, and other essential needs. The main mobilization will begin at the Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan and will advance along Paseo de la Reforma to reach the capital's Zócalo, which will cause road closures such as Paseo de la Reforma, Avenida Juárez, Eje Central, and 5 de Mayo.
Users are advised to check the updates on the Metrobús website for any changes in service during the afternoon and to take precautions due to the temporary closures of some Metro and Metrobús stations in Mexico City.
